On Friday, May 10, 2019 from 10:30 am-2:00 pm., Suffolk County Sheriff Errol D. Toulon, Jr. and Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean Pierre, along with members of the Deconstructing the Prison Pipeline Task Force, will be hosting a hearing at the Touro Law Center in Central Islip entitled A Holistic Approach to Deconstructing the Prison Pipeline. This is a public forum and community members are encouraged to participate.

Among the topics we will be exploring include:

• the intersection of race and poverty feeding the prison pipeline

• the impact of parental and familial incarceration on children and siblings

• childhood trauma and its relationship to delinquency in youth

- Effective interventions and more.
