East Meadow marching band is back to the beat

Members of the East Meadow High School Jets Marching Band safely assembled outdoors, with 12 feet of social distancing as per the New York State Department of Health, for the school’s annual marching band clinic on Sept. 26. The students started the day with sectional rehearsals. The day continued with instruction on marching band fundamentals, such as body carriage, connecting feet to the music and working together to move and play as one cohesive unit.

This year’s guest clinician was David Abrams, of the Long Island Sunrisers Drum and Bugle Corps. The day culminated with all students marching on the football field, combining the music and marching they learned throughout the day.
