Franchise-record 12th straight win for L.I. Nets

The Long Island Nets (18-3), the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, defeated the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (12-9) 122-102 on Wednesday evening at Nassau Coliseum. Tonight’s win marks the 12th consecutive win for Long Island, a franchise record and the longest win streak in the NBA G League this season.

Brooklyn two-way guard David Duke Jr. recorded 24 points, six rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks in 28 minutes. Long Island forward Kaiser Gates notched 21 points, nine rebounds, two assists and one block in 28 minutes. Long Island guard Alondes Williams posted 17 points, nine rebounds, two steals, two blocks and one assist in 27 minutes. Brooklyn two-way guard Dru Smith tallied 14 points, four assists, three rebounds, three blocks and one steal in 25 minutes.

The two teams went back-and-forth to begin the first quarter, but Fort Wayne moved quickly. The Nets closed the period down by four, 28-24. Long Island worked hard in the second quarter to shrink the gap and was successful. The Nets outscored the Mad Ants 36-30 to close the quarter ahead by two, 60-58.

Long Island kept its momentum in the third quarter, shooting 61.5 percent from the field. The Nets outscored the Mad Ants 41-17 to maintain their lead and close the quarter ahead by 26, 101-75. Long Island continued its strong performance into the fourth quarter and went on to defeat Fort Wayne by 20, 122-102.

Fort Wayne forward Trevelin Queen recorded 22 points, eight rebounds and four assists in 27 minutes. Mad Ants guard Gabe York tallied 19 points, eight rebounds, four steals, three assists and one block in 38 minutes.
