Freeport Mayor Robert Kennedy said that all parks in the village would be open on the weekend, as local municipalities have begun opening up common areas throughout Nassau County.
The order includes Randall Park, Sea Breeze Park, Martin Luther King Jr. Park, Waterfront Park, Bishop Frank O. White Park and Glacken Park.
The parks will be open from sunrise to sunset.
Local officers will be patrolling the parks regularly to make sure residents are maintaining social distancing and wearing masks.
“As we enjoy our parks again, I ask that residents continue to adhere to social distancing to make sure Covid-19 does not spread any further in Freeport.”
