LIAC at Freeport names photo winners

The Long Island Arts Council at Freeport named Scott Dere, of Cedarhurst, best in show of their 40th annual Juried Photography Show. 

Dere’s photograph, “Unfrozen,” along with the other contestants’ works, will be put on display at the LIAC’s art gallery in November. 

Joan Weiss and John Michaels took second and first place, respectively. 

Marzena Grabczynska won the Larry Adler Memorial Award for her piece, “In The Shadows.” 

Sarina Finkelstein juried this year’s competition. She is a seasoned photographer who has worked for many magazines and currently serves as the director of photography for the Barron’s and Penta magazine.
