Lynbrook Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Melissa Burak announced on Tuesday that two Lynbrook High School students tested positive for Covid-19, but the school will remain open.

According to an  announcement on the school district's website, the students were last in school on Sept. 23.  Under the Department of Health's guidelines, the students will now quarantine until they receive clearance to return. The DOH will also notify anyone who was in contact and may be at risk. Despite the positive test, the schools remained open on Wednesday and Thursday.

She noted that the school has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, and added  that officials will continue to follow Department of Health guidelines and will take any other necessary tracing measures.

"Please know that there is nothing more important than the health and safety of our
students and staff," she wrote. "The district asks that all continue to remain committed to following all protocols necessary to limit student and staff exposure. Additionally, the district will continue to work collaboratively with the Nassau County Department of Health regarding any other measures or tracing that may be necessary."
