Malvernite Jeanne D’Esposito is running for re-election as trustee with the Malverne Board of Education unopposed. A Malverne resident for nearly 30 years, D’Esposito said she chose to run for re-election to help the district continue its growth.

Both of her sons, Theodore and Charles Agriogianis, graduated from Malverne High School in 2018 and 2015, respectively. “My boys received an incredible education in the Malverne School District and I want to use the skills and talents I have to keep the district moving forward,” D’Esposito said. “It is my way of giving back to the communities that I love. Malverne students are amazing. They are ambitious and idealistic and kind and they deserve the best education our communities can provide.”

Maintaining continuity among school board trustees, D’Esposito added, is key to keeping up the district’s success, especially as the district is dealing with the coronavirus pandemic. D’Esposito said she looks forwards to working with the district’s new superintendent Dr. Lorna Lewis in August.

“I am very excited about having the opportunity to work with such an esteemed educator as Dr. Lorna Lewis and will do everything I can to help with a smooth transition,” D’Esposito said.

This year’s budget vote and trustee election will be done by mail. Ballots will be mailed to residents, and must be returned to the district clerk by June 9.
