Merrick 10-year-old celebrates a bioluminescent birthday

Posted

The streets of south Merrick seemed to glow last Thursday night as dozens of cars decked out in neon drove by Jordana Kohen’s house on James Street in celebration of her 10th birthday.

The car parade, held on Aug. 27, was one of the more unique ones hosted amid Covid-19 since partygoers had a special theme to abide by: glow party. The Kohen family turned the celebration up a notch by setting up black lights, handing out glow sticks and hiring glow performer, Miss Krissy, to join in on the fun.

As drivers dropped off gifts to the double-digit Jordana, music played and glow sticks swirled through the summer night.
