Our Lady of Lourdes in Malverne contribute to Midnight Run in NYC

Posted

Our Lady of Lourdes Youth Ministry in Malverne took part in a Midnight Run on Aug. 9 in New York City. Dozens of teens and adults from the church that volunteered worked together to supply clothes, shoes and toiletries for homeless people in the city.
A nonprofit organization, Midnight Run coordinates over 1,000 relief missions per year and works with hundreds of volunteers from churches, synagogues, schools and civic groups to distribute food, clothing, blankets and personal care items to the homeless on the streets of New York City. Midnight Run claims it is not a solution to homelessness — but a means to forge a bond between the housed and the homeless, and to establish a foundation of
caring.
