Rose Pomposelli Orzano, a longtime Rockville Centre resident, died on Aug. 9. Born in Tower Hill, Pa., to Julia and Louis Pomposelli, the family moved to Rockville Centre, where Rose and her sister Filomena attended public school.

As the years passed Rose met her husband, John Orzano, with whom she had twin sons, John and James. She taught them special family traditions that they passed along to their own families. In addition to her sons, Rose leaves behind two daughters-in-law, Judy and Janet, and four grandchildren, Cassie, Toby, Jahna and Joshua. She raised her nephew, Tom Barci, becoming his adopted mom and instilling in him the values and traditions that made her proud of the man he became.

When Rose lost her sister to breast cancer and then her husband, her cousins Joe and Marion Oliver and their family, William, Oliver and Frank, and her close friend Joann Livoti provided the strength that she needed to pull through her sadness and grief. She also was like family to special neighbors down her street. Rose also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she hoped will be healthy and happy.
