Santa Claus visits Freeport children

The Freeport Recreation Center welcomed Santa Claus and Frosty the Snow man on Dec. 14 for a festive holiday celebration. Families lined up to get a chance to meet jolly St. Nick and take pictures. 

The holiday filled evening in Freeport started with the lighting of the village Christmas tree and Menorah lighting at Sunrise Highway near the Long Island RailRoad.

The party then trickled over to the Recreation Center where the outdoor Christmas tree was also lit and Santa arrived riding atop the 

While some of the children shared their Christmas wishlist with Santa, others lined up for holiday treats, face painting and balloon animals by Elves from Clowns.com.

The evening also included holiday songs performed by the Freeport High School Select Chorale and a stunning ice show in the Recreation Center ice rink.
