Blood drive at the library
January marks National Blood Donor Month. Stop by the Lakeview Public Library on Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 1 to 6 p.m. for its blood drive. Our Lady of Lourdes thrift shop
Our Lady of Lourdes will hold its weekly thrift shop between Park Blvd. and Wright Ave. in Malverne on Wednesday, Jan. 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The shop is also open on the first and third Saturday of each month, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Come in and browse, buy at bargain prices; clothes, household goods, jewelry, etc. Donations accepted. Tai Chi
Take part in an ancient Chinese tradition at the Lakeview Public Library on Thursday, Jan. 24, from 6 to 7 p.m. Shifu, or Master Teacher Pam Dye will lead this practice. His ‘Bronx tale’
Chazz Palminteri visits Long Island with his one-man version of “A Bronx Tale,” on Sunday, Jan. 20, at 8 p.m.  His autobiographical coming-of-age story, which became a movie and then found its way to Broadway, tells of Calogero Anello, a young New Yorker torn between the temptations of organized crime and the values of his hardworking father. Jazzin’ it up on a winter’s night
