Virtual food drive for families on Long Island

Posted

State Assemblywoman Griffin, who serves Malverne and West Hempstead, started a virtual food drive in March in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The virtual drive is being held in collaboration with Long Island Cares and all food purchased through the website is shipped directly to their facility. The donated food will then be distributed across Long Island to families in need.

In addition, five percent of every online purchase goes back to Long Island Cares. Founded in 1980, Long Island Cares aims to provide food when and where it is needed, sponsor programs that promote self-sufficiency and educate residents about the causes and consequences of hunger on Long Island.

Griffin’s drive will run until the end of the month. To donate, go to www.yougivegoods.com/griffin.
