Eleven Central High School students competed at the Future Business Leaders of America New York State Leadership Convention in Rochester from April 13 to 15, earning six first place titles and a fourth place title.

The group competed in a variety of business events against nearly 700 students from across the state. The events are designed to allow the students to apply classroom concepts in a workforce-simulated competitive environment, and can involve test and performance components.

First place awards went to Chinoye Okoli for the Basic Decision Making event, Ryan Andres and Carly St. Angelo for Digital Video Production, Collin Jones and Justin Mirville for Emerging Business Issues, Jason Paz for Public Speaking II, Sophia Grunin for Publication Design and Stephanie Burchell and Tyrese Haspil for Website Design. Gabriella Reyes placed fourth in the Job Interview event.

The 10 winning students will travel to Atlanta, Georgia this summer for the National Leadership Convention, where they will compete against students from across the country.
