Valley Stream deli robbed at gunpoint

Happiness and Fortune Deli was robbed at gunpoint on June 28 at 10:08 a.m., according to Nassau County police.

Detectives report that an unknown suspect entered the Happiness and Fortune, at 246 N. Central Ave, and walked up to a 42-year-old male employee. The suspect demanded cash from the employee while pointing a long rifle with a wooden handle at him. The victim complied, police said, and handed over an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect then fled on foot, and was last seen running west on Fritchie Place. There were no other customers or employees in the store and no injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as being a black, light skinned, male, who is about 30-years-old, between 5-foot-10-inches tall, 150 pounds. He was wearing a red and white Yankee hat.
