The Valley Stream Lions said goodbye to Immediate Past President Catrina Dugger and welcomed new President Timothy Lawton at the club’s annual installation dinner on July 24.

“It was a beautiful occasion,” Dugger said.

As part of the ceremony, District Governor José Pastrana swore in new officers Michelle Bage, Junon Zephyr and David Basile in addition to Lawton. The nearly 30 Lions in attendance also celebrated Dugger’s tenure as president, and Mayor Ed Fare presented her with a citation.

“It was a testimonial to me, the past president, to commemorate the last year of the Valley Stream Lions and to celebrate the future,” Dugger said.

The Lions host the Classic Car Show every Thursday evening over the summer, and will be holding its annual Flea Market on Sept. 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Arthur J. Hendrickson Pool parking lot.
