Valley Stream soccer coach allegedly raped teen player, police say

Nassau County police arrested a Valley Stream soccer coach for allegedly raping a 16-year-old female player on two occasions over the summer, detectives reported on Thursday.

Police reportedly arrested Sean Johnsen, 35, of Fletcher Avenue, on Oct. 29 in connection to two alleged instances of “inappropriate contact” with the player, which detectives said took place on Aug. 17 and Aug. 21 in Westbury. The players on his team ranged in age from 14 to 19 years old, police said.

Prosecutors charged Johnsen with two counts of third-degree rape, two counts of third-degree criminal sexual act and endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned on Friday, Oct. 30 in Mineola. No defense attorney information was listed upon his arrest.
