Arrests

On May 6 at 8:57 a.m., a 24-year-old Hempstead resident was arrested and charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse and third-degree assault near Maine Avenue.

At 12:25 p.m. on May 11, a 27-year-old man from Passiac, New Jersey was arrested and charged with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance near South Centre Avenue.

A 41-year-old man from Paterson, New Jersey was arrested on May 11 at 12:25 p.m. and charged with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance near South Centre Avenue.

Assault

On May 9 at 3:55 p.m., a customer at Mesita Restaurant reported that he was punched in the face by another person.

Robbery

At 11:51 a.m. on May 14, a pedestrian notified police that three people stole items from him while he was walking on South Park Avenue.

Larceny

A student reported that someone stole his bicycle while it was outside of South Side High School on May 9 at 5:10 p.m.

On May 10 at 10:18 a.m., a motorist notified police that someone stole the catalytic converter from his car while it was parked in a Hampton Inn parking lot.

Leaving the scene

At 2:14 a.m. on May 15, a motorist reported that her car was struck by a vehicle that left the scene while she was driving on North Park Avenue.
