Light Drizzle Car jumps guardrail on Southern State Parkway near Malverne

Firefighters from the Malverne Fire Department responded to a reported car accident and overturn on the Southern State Parkway on Aug. 11. The accident occurred shortly after 3 p.m., westbound between Exit 17 and Exit 16.
Firefighters found out that a Mercedes Benz sedan with two passengers travelling westbound went over the guardrail and into the bushes. The car overturned several times before coming back over the guardrail and landing back in the roadway. One occupant was injured and was treated by Nassau County police paramedics. The second occupant refused treatment.
