Hacking Houndinis compete at West Hempstead Middle School

Posted

The Hacking Houdinis, a team of student coders at West Hempstead Middle School, take part in the middle school junior division kidOYO hackathon on March 12.

A hackathon is a timed event in which teams compete against one another in coding challenges. This year’s competition was a Samurai Conquest in which teams had to gain control of virtual territories by completing coding challenges.

“The hackathon really helps students to build teamwork and sportsmanship while learning coding,” said STEM Director Joe Cangemi in a news release. “It’s great to see them able to participate this year.”
