Lawrence students blend history and literature

Combining their English Language Arts learning with social studies, Lawrence Elementary School sixth-graders created Greek clay pots drawing on the inspiration from reading the Rick Riordan novel “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief” and studying ancient Greece.

The students also studied the ancient Greek philosophers, the architecture, and the geography of ancient Greece and its city-states such as Athens and Sparta. After studying Greek symbols, the students created their clay pots.
