A true love story

The West Hempstead Public Library will feature author J.S. Russo, who wrote a real-life love story, on Sunday, March 1, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Russo’s story, “In Sickness and in Health: A Memoir of Love,” is a true story about two people that fate brought together. Russo will talk about their lives before and after Sue Satriano became afflicted with cancer and how the couple’s relationship grew throughout their cancer journey. Info: (516) 481-6591.

Camellia Festival

Take in a balmy escape at Planting Fields’ delightful camellia greenhouse, Sunday, March 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Quatrain Barbershop Quartet will perform throughout the day; guided tours are offered at 1 and 3 p.m. Visitors can also take part in a Tea Talk and Tasting at noon. ‘On A Winter’s Night’ Reunion

Christine Lavin and some of her friends will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the now-classic “On A Winter’s Night” CD on Thursday, March 5, at 7:30 p.m., on the Landmark on Main Street stage.
