Teen charged for violent robbery in West Hempstead

Nassau County police reported the arrest of a Roosevelt man for robbing another man in West Hempstead on Oct. 27.

According to police, 19-year-old Rahmarv McNeil approached a male victim, 62, from behind in front of 30 Hempstead Turnpike, in West Hempstead, at 5:40 a.m. McNeil grabbed the victim by his neck and threw him to the ground. He then punched the victim several times while he was on the ground and removed his wallet. McNeil ran away and headed eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike, according to police.

After a thorough investigation, police were able to locate McNeil in front of 83 Mead Street where he was placed into police custody without incident. McNeil was charged with robbery in the second degree. He was arraigned on Oct. 28 in Mineola.
