Teens, adults give back through Midnight Run

Posted

Ten adults and 18 teenagers from Our Lady of Lourdes Youth Ministry teamed up as they traveled to Manhattan for a Midnight Run on Feb. 8. The goal of Midnight Run is to forge a bond between housed and homeless people. The group provided the homeless with items such as toiletries, clothing, food, sneakers and blankets, but above all, they shared a conversation and a smile. Our Lady of Lourdes Youth Ministry takes part in a Midnight Run twice a year with their next run scheduled for August.
A nonprofit organization, Midnight Run coordinates over 1,000 relief missions per year and works with hundreds of volunteers from churches, synagogues, schools and civic groups to distribute items for people in need.
