Mazzola, a certified financial fiduciary and certified public accountant, will discuss several personal finance topics such as ways to reduce income taxes how to control spending, and planning for retirement. Our Lady of Lourdes thrift shop
Our Lady of Lourdes will hold its weekly thrift shop between Park Blvd. and Wright Ave. in Malverne on Wednesday, May 15, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The shop is open each Wednesday, and the first and third Saturday of each month, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. Come in and browse, buy at bargain prices; clothes, household goods, jewelry, misc. West Hempstead’s Lego Club
Let your imagination run wild with the Lego Club at the West Hempstead Public Library on Saturday, May 17, from 1 to 3 p.m. On the third weekend of each month, the library invites children to enjoy its collection of Lego pieces. Art explorations at Hofstra University
The kids can explore their creative side an “Artful Adventure,” on Saturday, May 11, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., when families can “Pop Into Spring. Participants (ages 5-10) will pop into the gallery to explore Pop Art works on view led by museum educators, who will then guide visitors in a hands-on art project. Registration is required.
