2015-16 Bellmore-Merrick school budgets pass

North Bellmore approves $8.9M library bond

Posted

Voters overwhelmingly approved their 2015-16 school budgets throughout the Bellmores and Merricks on May 19 (see results below).

In addition, North Bellmore voters gave their stamp of approval to an $8.9 million bond referendum to pay for upgrades and repairs at the North Bellmore Public Library. The bond will fund improvements throughout the library, particularly in the children’s department, and add a young adult room (there is none now).

In the Bellmore Board of Education election, incumbents Marion Blane and Brian Desmond faced no opposition and were elected. In North Bellmore, incumbent Nina Lanci and newcomer Melissa Cmar-Grote also ran unopposed and were elected.
