Bellmore Library celebrates ‘Star Wars’

Not so long ago, in a library not so far away, children celebrated their love of a popular science-fiction film franchise.

Bellmore Memorial Library officials created a holiday of sorts on Jan. 25 –– Star Wars Day –– when they welcomed dozens of children to the community room for several activities and festivities related to the popular movie series.

Storm troopers, Chewbacca, Darth Vader and many other well-loved characters were on hand to take photos with families. Many children sported matching costumes of their favorite characters. And the youngsters enjoyed “Star Wars” games and crafts, and went home with gift bags.
