A ‘berry’ good time in N. Bellmore

Posted

The Bellmore Kiwanis and Lions Clubs co-hosted the 22nd annual Nassau County Strawberry Festival this past week. Residents from across Nassau County traveled to the BOCES building on Jerusalem Avenue in North Bellmore to enjoy the festivities, which kicked off last Wednesday.

The festival provided attendees with rides, games, vendors, live music, a Green Expo and, of course, strawberries. The weather was beautiful all week, allowing participants to enjoy the festivities. Children and parents alike enjoyed games and rides provided by Blue Sky Amusements and Entertainment.

The Green Expo sponsor this year was Alure Home improvements. The Green Expo supports local green businesses, ranging from solar panel companies to home insulation.

Many volunteers also showed up to help out with the event. Members from both Kennedy and Mepham's Key Clubs as well as various local PTAs helped serve strawberry drinks and foods.

All of the proceeds raised at the event will go to benefit the charities supported by the Kiwanis and Lions clubs.
