American Cancer Society's Relay for Life needs volunteers

Posted

The American Cancer Society is seeking community volunteers to help organize and participate in its Relay for Life event planned for May 15 in the local area.

Relay for Life is a community celebration at which groups of friends, families, neighbors and co-workers form teams to walk around a track to raise spirits, awareness and funds to fight cancer through research, education, advocacy, and patient and family services.

At nightfall, luminaria candles placed around the track are lit in a tribute to honor loved ones battling cancer and those who have lost their battles. Live music and other entertainment keep energy flowing throughout the night.
