Hundreds of people turned out to march in the Bellmore Little League’s opening day parade last weekend.

With a familiar shout –– “Play ball!” –– the Bellmore Little League began its spring season last Saturday. The league’s annual parade stepped off from the Bellmore firehouse in downtown Bellmore and made its way through the community. Several hundred people showed up to enjoy the event.
Little League teams from across the area donned their uniforms and walked proudly behind their banners. The parade ended at Bruce Gary Field in south Bellmore, where participants enjoyed closing ceremonies. Time was left for playing a little bit of ball and watching pitches be thrown out.
