Bellmore 10-year-old takes 3rd at state free-throw contest

Elena Bonilla, 10, of Bellmore has taken her free-throw shooting skills to the state level. Elena recently won the St. Barnabas Church Competition, the Nassau and Suffolk County Regional Competition, and the Five Boroughs Inter-City Competition. She took third place in the state finals at West Point. She is pictured with her father, Hempstead Town Clerk Mark Bonilla, and Town Supervisor Kate Murray.
