Bellmore chamber fair a hit once again

Posted

Despite a drizzly start to the 27th annual Bellmore Family Street Festival, the fair went off without a hitch, attracting tens of thousands of festival-goers to Bedford Avenue and its environs north of the Long Island Rail Road station last weekend.

As always, there was a little something for everyone at this Bellmore Chamber of Commerce-sponsored event, including an array of amusement rides for kids, loads of fair food, from hotdogs to cotton candy, displays by local merchants and professionals, the Town of Hempstead’s showmobile where local bands could rock out, a military expo that featured exhibits by local veterans organizations and a sports expo that highlighted both professional and amateur sports.

The Bellmore Herald Life, one of the festival’s sponsors, had a booth in front of Petite Florist on Petit Avenue, where local folks could stop by and chat with editors and advertising representatives and pick up the latest edition of the paper. We must offer our hearty thanks to Petite Florist for all its help and to the dozens of Chamber of Commerce volunteers who work countless hours to make the festival one of Nassau County’s largest.
