Bellmore Chamber taking part in Toys for Tots

The Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores is once again collecting toys for children in need through the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program.

Begun in 1947 by Maj. Bill Hendricks and his Los Angeles Marine Corps unit, this program was so successful that it was adopted and expanded nationwide in 1948 by the entire Marine Corps. Chamber members’ businesses will again serve as collection sites for the program. If you wish to participate, you may drop off a new, unwrapped toy by Dec. 15 anywhere you see a Toys for Tots poster displayed, or you may drop off your toy at one of the following locations:
