Bellmore man struck and killed in Seaford

An elderly Bellmore man was killed while crossing the road to his car in Seaford Saturday evening. Nassau County Police say the 73-year old man was crossing Washington Avenue toward his parked vehicle when he was struck by a car traveling northbound at about 5:45 p.m.

Police say the 53-year old man from Seaford who struck the Bellmorite was not charged with any criminality in the accident. The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead by physicians. The driver’s vehicle was impounded by police to undergo routine safety checks.
