Calhoun's night of comedy

Posted

More than 30 students and nearly 200 audience members took part in a night of laughs on Dec. 13 at the Calhoun High School On Tour Company's annual Improv Night.

Actors and actresses delighted the audience with improv sketches, comedic monologues and a few more serious numbers with songs and poems.

"We were quite pleased with the turnout. We had a lot of students who were able to showcase their talents," said Amanda McLoughlin, student president of the Calhoun On Tour Company. McLoughlin, a senior, also noted the talent displayed by the program's youngest members.

A portion of funds raised by the sale of tickets went to support the On Tour Program. The rest was donated to the Kiwanis Club of Merrick's food and toy drive, which will supply hot holiday meals for 50 Merrick families in need this season.
