Cops: Three steal cash from elderly couple’s N. Bellmore home

Three male suspects entered the home of an elderly couple in North Bellmore on Sunday afternoon under false pretenses and stole cash from them.

At 4:10 p.m., the three males, described by police as Hispanic, asked the 76-year-old man and 73-year-old woman for a drink of water at their Bennett Avenue home. The victims allowed the suspects into their house, where the three took $60 from the man’s wallet. The suspects then fled to a green or gray Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with Florida license plates and drove off south on Newbridge Road.

The first suspect was described as about 23 to 26 years old, wearing black pants, a black shirt and a black baseball-style cap. The second suspect was described as about 20 years old, heavy-set and wearing plaid shorts. The third suspect was described as about 13 years old and wearing a Chicago Cubs jersey.
