Mostly Cloudy Fire engulfs North Bellmore home

A fire broke out at a home on Martin Avenue in North Bellmore at around 10 a.m. Thursday. Bellmore fire fighters responded to the call and found the back of the house fully engulfed in flames. North Bellmore fire fighters also arrived on the scene to provide aid.
Residents of the house were not home at the time of the fire. The family’s dog was found but did not survive injuries sustained during the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
