Fundraiser for Rob Verderosa set for June 11

Bellmore resident and business owner continues to progress

When Rob Verderosa, 40, of Bellmore, had a stroke that sent him to the ICU, his friends set up a gofundme page to alleviate the burden of hospital bills on him and his family. On June 11 they will host a fundraiser for the cause at McFadden’s in Citi Field.

Verderosa is an entrepreneur with businesses that stretch from the Hamptons to Manhattan. He had a stroke that damaged his brain stem and sent him to the ICU in critical condition on March 14. Eleven days later he was upgraded to stable condition and moved to a respiratory unit where doctors worked on getting him to breath and swallow on his own. On April 17, Verderosa, or “Rob Vee,” moved to the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine in Manhattan. According to ToniAnn Cestare, who set up the gofundme page, “he shows intentions to progress every day.”

The fundraiser includes a silent auction with prizes such as an autographed guitar from Maroon 5, Billy Joel concert tickets and an autographed picture, a fishing trip with the cast of Wicked Tuna, a meet and greet with the Wahlberg brothers at the Times Square Wahlburgers VIP party, a tour and breakfast on the New York Stock Exchange, tickets to One World Observatory, tickets and a prize pack to Adventureland and many more. Raffle tickets will also be sold in advance and purchasers don't need to be present at the event to win. Prizes include four pack tickets to a Yankees and Mets game, and a pair of tickets to a Jets and Giants game. You can find out a little more about the event and raffle ticket by going to this link https://buyblitztickets.com/zQK7c. General admission is $100 and includes an open bar and buffet from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
