Duck is on the loose, when Dallas Children’s Theatre brings this madcap musical mutiny, based on Doreen Cronin’s barnyard series of children’s books to Tilles Center, Sunday, March 27, at 2 p.m.

James E. Grote has adapted Cronin’s “Giggle, Giggle, Quack,” which comes to life onstage with music and lyrics by George Howe, for ages 3 and up.

When the farmer’s away, the animals will play. Good old Farmer Brown has left his city-slicker brother in charge of his farm while he takes a much-needed vacation. He’s left detailed instructions on how to take care of the animals so that nothing will go wrong, including the important warning “Keep an eye on Duck. He’s Trouble.” But when the instructions fall into the wrong hands (or wings!), Duck takes the opportunity to do a little re-writing – with a few creative embellishments. Soon it’s pizza for the hen, bubble baths for the pig and movie night for the cow!

A family workshop precedes the performance at 1 pm. Enjoy a reading of the book and a chance to stir up trouble with duck! You’ll hear plenty of giggles as families act out the hilarious sequel to “Click Clack Moo: Cows that Type.”

Tickets are $20 and $12; available at (800) 745-3000 or www.ticketmaster.com or www.tillescenter.org.
