Martin Avenue students parade around on Halloween

Martin Avenue Elementary School in North Bellmore was surrounded by witches and monsters, princesses and hippies, firefighters and pro athletes, and a cast of other characters on Oct. 30. The school celebrated its ninth annual Halloween parade. The students dressed in costume and circled the building as parents, grandparents and younger siblings looked on.
This year's event also encouraged healthy habits for Halloween. It promoted the school's recently introduced Walking Club, which fosters physical activity with planned walks during recess periods.
