Bellmore-Merrick residents donned their maroon shirts last Saturday as the 2011 Mepham High School Homecoming parade made its way through the neighborhood. The parade, which began at the Bellmore train station on Bedford Avenue and ended at the school, featured the school’s band, cheerleaders, kickline team, the Mepham Pirate mascot, faculty, and floats built by seniors, juniors, sophomores and freshmen.

Pirate pride was exuded all day long, and didn’t stop until the Mepham football team wrapped up the day’s festivities by defeating Jericho, 38-14.
