Each year, the North Merrick Cub Scout Pack 206 holds a Blue and Gold banquet, inviting families and friends to watch young scouts crossover to a new stage of their scouting service. On March 1, at the Knights of Columbus in Oceanside, the scouts in Den 4 completed a bridging ceremony during the celebration.
The ceremony honors Cub Scouts receiving the Arrow of Light Award, and has them physically cross a bridge to symbolize their transition into a Boy Scout. Local scouts from Troops 123 and 225 were also on hand to help the younger scouts put on their new neckerchiefs.
The banquet was a chance for attendees to celebrate the accomplishments of the Cub Scouts, who created visual displays of their scouting efforts. Guests also enjoyed creative decor, exciting entertainment and delicious food.
