Pedestrian killed on Sunrise Highway

The Nassau County Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck while crossing Sunrise Highway early Sunday morning.

According to police, the woman was hit by a vehicle that was traveling eastbound at 1 a.m. on Sunday.

She was transported to Nassau University Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased. The vehicle remained at the scene, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
