Police: Couple in Jeep tried to lure boys with beer

An 11- and a 12-year-old boy were approached by a man and woman in a dark, older-model Jeep Cherokee who tried to lure the boys into the car by offering them beer at 10:05 p.m. on June 1, on Park Place in Bellmore, police are reporting

According to authorities, the pair drove off north on Park Place, then made a left turn on to Hicks Street, heading west. The vehicle had New York license plates.

Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
