Reinhard celebrates core values at concert

Great music warmed the hearts of a crowd of parents recently on a cold night during the Charles A. Reinhard Early Childhood Center’s annual winter concert in Bellmore.

Students at the school, which houses Bellmore’s kindergarten through second-grade classes, welcomed their families for a night of entertainment and education on Jan. 15. Second-graders in the Rising Star Chorus, under the direction of Randi Andersen, performed songs that portrayed Reinhard’s core values in light of this year’s theme, “A Better You, A Better Me!”

Before each song, groups of students introduced the various features of the song and how they related to the core values of friendship, the importance of exemplifying good character and having a positive attitude.

“The concert proved to be a wonderful performance and celebration of friendship and childhood,” Andersen said.

The Rising Stars ended the concert by dancing and singing through the aisles to a rendition of the song “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. They exhibited the happiness they sang about –– and sent the crowd home feeling the same way, district officials said.
