Posted

Attention runners and south Merrick residents: The route for the annual Robbie’s Run has changed.

Robbie’s Run is sponsored by Forever 9: The Robbie Levine Foundation and raises funds to purchase automated external defibrillators for youth ballfields.

The 5K race/walk, which is set to get under way at the corner of Lindenmere Drive and Merrick Road on Sunday, April 28, at 9:15 a.m., will head south on Lindenmere before turning right on Shore Drive. From there, the run will head south on Shore until it becomes Clubhouse Road and head northwest before making a right onto Beach Drive.

The race will follow Beach, make a right onto Cynthia Lane, a left onto Nelson Court, a left on Joyce Lane, a left on Julian Lane and then a right on Rosebud Avenue, completing a circle around Julian Lane Park.

From there, the race will head north on Rosebud before turning left onto Florence Street and then right onto Beach Drive. The run will follow Beach north before making a right onto Alice Street, a left onto Montauk Avenue, a right onto Merrick Road, and a quick right onto Babylon Road and into the Levy-Lakeside Elementary School ballfield, where the 3.1-mile race will finish.

Runners may pick up their numbers at Levy-Lakeside Elementary School from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
