Rockettes rock Dorothy’s School of Dance

Fall is in the air, and soon enough Thanksgiving will be upon Long Island — and with that will come holiday decorations and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. The Rockettes traveled to Bellmore to visit local dancers at Dorothy’s School of Dance in Bellmore last week, before the holiday season officially gets under way.

The Rockettes’ Lori Barber and Andrea Hammond instructed students on some of their iconic dance moves, like their high kicks and kickline formation. Dorothy’s School of Dance was selected to spend time with the Rockettes through a contest on the Rockettes’ Facebook page. Select studios were asked to submit how the Rockettes inspire them as dancers, and Dorothy’s School of Dance was named one of the few contest winners across the country.
