School bus carrying children collides with car

A small school bus headed to the Brookside School in North Merrick collided with a red Buick on Meadowbrook Road on Wednesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. The bus was transporting students with physical disabilities.
Four children were transported to a nearby hospital because their parents were not at the scene, and the Buick’s female driver was transported to the hospital for shoulder pain, said North Merrick Fire Chief James Allen. There were no serious injuries reported, officials said.
