Supports Port, Gonzalez

Posted

To the Editor:

On Tuesday, I am voting for Gary Port to be my next supervisor. I am voting for Gary because as a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army, and a family man, he understands the words sacrifice, honor and loyalty.  I am not asking for an elected leader to solve my problems, just one to be loyal to me, a resident of this town — not a political party boss.

On Tuesday, voters will have an opportunity to express their concerns at the ballot box. In the Town of Hempstead they have a choice between keeping machine politics alive or electing a person who is standing with them. Please join me in voting for Gary Port.

Also, I support Anthony Gonzalez, a regular attendee of the Valley Democratic Club meetings. He was selected by his zone leader to represent the Democratic party in the 6th Legislative District.

Anthony’s passion for politics has motivated him to work on numerous campaigns, from those within our community to campaigns in New Hampshire and Ohio. It takes some kind of commitment and fire to travel to Ohio from New York just to be a volunteer.

I have known Anthony for some time, and what I have learned is that he stands for fiscal responsibility and safe communities and promises to the be the legislator for all residents of the 6th District. It is an opportunity I am sure he will excel at.
