Inspiration: Japanese Woodblock Prints
An exhibition prints drawn from the Museum’s collection of more than 60 historical woodblock prints, primarily from the 19th century (Edo period), that focus on themes of landscape, nature, courtesans, and Kabuki actors. In a New Light: American Impressionism 1870-1940
A sweeping survey of American Impressionism, Ihe exhibition reveals the transformative influence of Impressionism on American art between the years of the Hudson River School—whose majestic landscapes influenced, and then gradually gave way to, French Impressionist–inspired works—and modernist trends of the early 20th century. Featured artists include Colin Campbell Cooper, Daniel Garber, Childe Hassam, George Inness, Ernest Lawson, Thomas Moran, Edward Willis Redfield, and Guy Carleton Wiggins. Pushing Boundaries: American Art After World War II
An original exhibition that explores how vsual artists continued to push against traditional concepts in the aftermath of World War II, building upon the aesthetic ideas of the avant-garde that began at the turn of the 20th century. That 80s Show
An exhibition that revisits one of the most dynamic eras in American art history.
